Ο Dr. Dimitrios Ladakis (Scopus Author ID: 36739229700is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Development, Agri-Food, and Natural Resource Management at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), specializing in "Bio-processes for the utilisation of agro-livestock waste with a focus on circular economy."

Dr. Ladakis holds a degree in Chemical Engineering (2009) from the University of Patras and a Master’s degree from the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at the Agricultural University of Athens. He earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Patras, where his research centered on the development and design of bioprocesses for succinic acid production.

His research interests primarily focus on the development and design of sustainable biorefineries using renewable resources to produce value-added products and bio-based materials, in line with the principles of the circular economy. Additionally, focuses on the evaluation of the sustainability of new technologies via the estimation of environmental and economic indicators, applying life cycle analysis and techno-economic assessment methodologies

Over his career, Dr. Ladakis has been involved as a researcher in more than 15 national and European research projects. His work has resulted in over 38 publications in peer-reviewed international journals (h-index: 21, citations: 1,327) and five chapters in scientific books. He has also participated in 65 presentations and poster sessions at peer-reviewed scientific conferences.
