Undergraduate Studies Program

The Undergraduate Studies Program of the Department of Agricultural Development, Agri-Food and Natural Resources Management of the NKUA, is a modern Academic Educational program which is fully harmonized with the corresponding studies progam of Hellenic and of International Universities and responds to the country's needs in the specific field of Science.

The Undergraduate Studies Program main objetive is to provide a high level of undergraduate education, as well as to promote knowledge and research in the scientific field of science. The Undergraduate Studies Program of the Department of Agricultural Development, Agri-Food and Natural Resources Management of NKUA includes a cycle of undergraduate studies that lasts for 4 years (or 8 semesters) and corresponds to 240 ECTS credits, i.e. 30 ECTS per semester and 60 ECTS per year.

The curriculum cultivates and promotes the science of Agricultural Development, Food Technologies and Sustainability emphasizing knowledge, expertise and new technological developments

  • in the primary sector (eg Precision Agriculture,  Sustainable Development, Climate Change, Conservation of Biodiversity),
  • in the secondary sector (e.g. processing, standardization, packaging Viticulture, Dairy, Olive, Beekeeping products)
  • in the tertiary sector (eg Investments, Certification, Marketing, Sustainable Entrepreneurship).

Through a balanced curriculum, students receive all the basic and specialized knowledge of Sustainable Agricultural production, Chemistry with an emphasis on food and the environment, Biology and Biochemistry with an emphasis on molecular techniques, food, plant and animal physiology, Informatics with an emphasis in intelligent systems and the analysis of large Data Bases (Big Data Analysis), Environmental Sciences with an emphasis on the Circular Economy and Finance with an emphasis on the evaluation of Investments, Business Administration and Marketing.
